Happiness beckons

Ran Shucang, Gansu Province

On the National Day of 2011, Mr. Lai took the trouble to visit the families of poor students in the mountainous areas by crossing the deep gullies and ravine, which left an unforgettable impression on him and me.

A few days later, we were ready to visit He Juhong's home. Standing on the west side of the Care Action Macao Orphanage, we could see Juhong's home on the ridge opposite the deep gully. It was only five or six kilometers for us to walk, but this narrow and steep approach made my heart shiver even as a local. I felt the lightness and dexterity of their climbing and walking, and there would be rain, snow, and wind. Such courage was not easy to come by. I had mixed feelings in my heart when I took the photo. Kam decided to make a detour to visit.

So Mr. Lai and I drove about 20 kilometers along the mountain to reach He Juhong's home. When I got off the bus, I was greeted by a courtyard without walls and a crop-milling field. Near two simple houses in the northeast, He Juhong's mother, dressed clean and dumb, stood with her two daughters. Due to the influence of severe mental illness, she often shouted and ran away when seeing strangers, which made it difficult to control her. It's not uncommon for their father and neighbors to take days to find him. Miraculously, she was very obedient that day and seemed to see her family's savior in her muddled mind!

Then Juhong's father led Mr. Lai into Juhong's mother's bedroom. Although the ground was swept very clean, he smelled a thick smell of dirt when he entered the room. A black quilt was covered on the kang about two meters square. Mr. Li inspected the kang without any objection and opened the quilt to take a closer look at the surface of the earth kang. I was deeply moved by Mr. Lai's reckless behavior.

n the way back, Mr. Lai and I talked about the future of sisters He Juhong and Ju Heng. I worried that such a family would have a great influence on the growth of children and make it difficult for them to become successful. "The difficulties are great, but as long as you keep studying, your life will get better. Macau will continue to pay attention to these two sisters. But I always thought to myself that the hope of such children was too far away.

For more than ten years after his visit to He Juhong's home, Mr. Lai often inquired about Juhong and Juheng. Lin Yina from the Macau Le Shan Act helped the two sisters, and their encouragement played a great role. In addition to the government's minimum living security, the family does not worry about food and clothing, Ju Hong during the school period of work-study, hard work, and after-school hard study, obtained the certificate of traditional Chinese medicine, valuable, silently creating conditions for employment.

Mr. Lai perused the lessons of the He Juhong sisters

On August 18th, when I was waiting in line at the gate of Gansu Province Cancer Hospital to scan the code, I felt that someone was shielding me from the rain with an umbrella. Looking back, I looked a little dazed. My grandson Ran Wenbusy said He Juhong, "I don't even recognize her!" She told me that she would be admitted to this hospital as an intern in a few days. Hearing this information, I was excited beyond words. I already saw hope. Recalling Juhong has been working hard to find the right job, she will open her arms to embrace the most ideal happiness in life!
