In April this year, Guo Ruili, a villager from Maili, Huining County, was referred by President Ran Shucang of Gansu Province. She is married and has three children. On May 5, 1999, when Guo Ruili was in the fifth grade of primary school, the wall of the school collapsed, injuring her leg and lumbar vertebrae. After several operations, she survived, but her lumbar vertebrae and legs were severely damaged, which was later identified as a first-grade disability.

Sixteen years later, in 2015, she was unable to walk due to continuous pain and swelling in the back heels of her feet. After examination by Lanzhou Army General Hospital, she found that the back heels of her feet were necrotic and had to be surgically removed and implanted with artificial heels, otherwise the legs would be removed due to bone necrosis. Later, she underwent bone cement replacement surgery on the back heels of her feet. Until March 2019, the loss of consciousness to a hospital checking her and because of the legs, the report is oppressive nerve paralysis is gradually legs because of the lumbar spine deformity, must immediately repair the deformation of spine surgery, the surgical risk is great, fortunately, the operation is a success, finally is close, and always rely on support of various drugs, the body is only restored to the standard of secondary disability. However, since the end of 2019, she began to suffer intermittent pain and swelling in her heels, unable to walk and with a high fever. The doctor told her that the bone cement installed at that time had expired and needed replacement, so it was advisable to do another bone replacement operation immediately.

Over the course of more than 20 years, the hospital operations, in addition to the physical pain is extremely painful, but also the poor family debt. Another operation added insult to injury, as she could not afford the high cost of hospital surgery. In mid-April 2020, a vice president of Care Action Macao was informed of the situation and immediately extended a helping hand to transfer money to Gansu province. Guo Ruili was immediately hospitalized for surgery. The doctor budgeted to remove the bone cement from the heel and implant it in the iliac bone. However, after opening the heel, it was found that suppuration was serious and the degree of infection was large, so bone grafting could not be carried out. After removing suppuration, bone grafting should be carried out after two months without inflammation. At the end of June, Guo Ruili was admitted to hospital again and successfully underwent bone cement removal, bone removal from iliac bone and heel grafting. The doctor ordered her to stay in bed for three months depending on the progress of her recovery. She has returned home to begin a long recuperation.
