Organized by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macau and the United Front Work Department of the Sichuan Provincial Committee, a delegation of youth leaders from Macau's charitable and social organizations formed the \"Youth Trip to Beijing and Sichuan\". The honorary leaders were National People's Congress deputy Ho Keng Lun and National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference member Choi Meng Wai. A group of 26 people led by Macau International Junior Chamber president Wong Chun traveled to Sichuan for an investigation tour from April 17-21. They were accompanied by Director Zhang Kang from the Coordination Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macau. Care Action Macao's Chairman James Ng and Vice Chairman Coco Lo participated as the vice team leader and team member respectively, to deepen their understanding of the motherland and exchange with Macau's charitable organizations<\/p>

The delegation visited the ruins of Wenchuan Xuankou Middle School, the memorial museum at the epicenter of the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, and other sites to learn and observe. At the ruins of Xuankou Middle School, the delegation, guided by a lecturer, paid their respects and laid flowers to mourn the victims who perished in the earthquake and the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the earthquake relief efforts. Following the lecturer, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the touching stories that emerged during the earthquake relief process, as well as the remarkable achievements Wenchuan has made in post-disaster reconstruction and development revitalization.<\/p><\/section>

At the memorial museum at the earthquake epicenter, through visiting and learning about the sections on \"the catastrophic destruction of the disaster of the century, the united fight against the earthquake and disaster relief, the scientific reconstruction creating miracles, and the development and revitalization as a monument of the era\", the delegation gained a profound understanding of the new achievements, changes, images and appearances in the economic and social development of the disaster-affected area. They deeply recognized that the Chinese Communist Party is the strong leading core of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and profoundly experienced the superiority of China's socialist system, the excellent qualities of the Chinese nation's indomitable spirit, and the political character of the people's army.<\/p>

James Ng, the vice team leader of the \"Youth Trip to Beijing and Sichuan\" delegation and the Chairman of Care Action Macao, said: \"Today in the process of the visit, I felt the ruthlessness of the disaster, but also the unity of the people nationwide. I hope our young people can remember this moving experience and continue to do a good job in charitable work when they return.\"<\/p>

This activity has strengthened the recognition and understanding of the mainland's economy, society, culture, ecology and other fields among the socially-conscious individuals in Macau, and further reinforced the emotional identity of the Chinese national family.<\/p><\/section>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
